The brief

Farquharson Grant are a high-end executive headhunting firm, whose existing website hadn’t been refreshed since it was first built so the design was looking outdated and the content was dense and dry. Alongside a website redesign, they briefed me to completely overhaul the web copy, wanting a more up-to-date feel representing their brand as a high-end, experienced, specialist professional global brand inspiring confidence and reflecting their position in the market.

The challenge

I faced the challenge (which I always enjoy) to get my head around a rather specialist and competitive market with some nuanced language; alongside which the client had some particular set ideas about the tone and format of the web content he was after. I undertook extensive research into the executive search sector, getting a feel for the competition and best practice examples of other sites. I successfully adopted the strong brand persona and confident inspiring language required, and was happy to work closely with the client to fine-tune where needed.

The results

Having put a lot into understanding the sector and the client’s vision, it was a great feeling of achievement all round when the client loved the final copy feeling it summed up exactly what he had envisaged, and positioned Farquharson Grant where they felt they should be in the market. The web designer also commented on the high quality of the copywriting, and the website has had a hugely positive impact on business so far.
